National Payroll Week is a chance to recognise the people behind payroll and the important work they do every day.
At The Disability Syndicate, payroll is a particularly important part of the services we provide through DD Payroll. We support people who use Direct Payments to employ their own Personal Assistants, helping with the payroll responsibilities that come with being an employer.
More than numbers on a payslip
Payroll might seem like it’s all about calculations, but there’s a person behind every payslip.
For someone employing their own Personal Assistant, payroll is one part of managing their care and support alongside everything else that comes with having a Direct Payment.
Our payroll team helps with the practical side of employment, including calculating pay, PAYE, National Insurance and pensions, while also being there when employers have questions or need some extra support.
It’s about making something that can feel complicated a little easier to manage.
The people behind the payroll
National Payroll Week is also an opportunity to recognise the people working behind the scenes.
Payroll requires accuracy, knowledge and attention to detail, but it also requires people who understand that every payroll is connected to someone’s everyday life.
Our DD Payroll team works with Direct Payment employers and their Personal Assistants throughout the year, helping to keep payroll running and supporting employers when things change.
We’re proud of the work they do.
Payroll with Purpose
DD Payroll is part of The Disability Syndicate, a social enterprise within the Disability Direct family.
All profits from DD Payroll are donated to our parent charity, Disability Direct.
That means the work carried out by the payroll team has a purpose beyond the payroll itself.
By providing a service that supports disabled people to employ their own Personal Assistants, DD Payroll also generates income that can be reinvested into the wider charitable work of Disability Direct.
That’s what we mean by Payroll with Purpose.
Supporting choice and independence
Direct Payments give disabled people greater choice and control over how their care and support is arranged.
For many people, that means being able to employ their own Personal Assistants and choose who provides their support.
Employment responsibilities can sometimes feel daunting, particularly when you’re managing your own care at the same time. Having access to payroll support can help take some of that administration off your plate.
We’re proud that DD Payroll can be part of that support.
Thank you to our payroll team
As National Payroll Week comes to an end, we’d like to say a huge thank you to everyone behind DD Payroll.
From payroll administrators and pensions specialists to the wider teams supporting our employers, your work makes a real difference.
And to all the Direct Payment employers and Personal Assistants we support, thank you for trusting us with an important part of your employment responsibilities.
Here’s to the people behind the payroll, and the purpose behind what we do. 💜
